We had the most enjoyable week staying in this wonderful house.Excellent sea views from almost every window. Superbly furnished and equipped we wanted for nothing.  It was more than a home from home we enjoyed the welcome pack of scones, jam and cream very much. The position of the house within Coverack is great and very convenient with only a short walk to the harbour, shop, fish & chips and the local pub. The off-road parking for two cars across from the house is very convenient. We highly recommend this as a place to stay-you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful house with sea views in Coverack

★★★★★ 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed our autumn break! The house is on a very quiet road, steps away from the South West Coast Path. Sea views are extensive in various directions, the Morse Oven works really well, although it is not necessary to use it, as the central heating is very good. Kitchen is well kitted out, I imagine even with a full house, you would be very comfortable.

We had a delightful stay at Porthvean - what a lovely house and beautiful part of the country! Those views are just stunning! Coverack is a delightful little place. Local establishments (restaurant, cafe, shop etc.) are taking social distancing very seriously, it was all very well-managed, which was very comforting to see. The house is literally right on the southwest coast path, so it was perfect for walking along the coast. Porthbeer Cove was a particular favourite for a relatively short, stunning walk. Porthvean is also very well placed for a number of must-do’s on the Lizard peninsula. The kitchen was very well equipped - bonus points for having a decent set of knives! We are very much looking forward to visiting again next year !

Two of our party had to work some of the time but they loved being able to look out at the great view from the house; a view of sun, sea, rocks and container ships. The rest of us went to the beach, visited Falmouth and St Ives and walked some of the many walks accessible from the house. Our favourite places were Kynance Cove, St Just and Godrevy. The house was perfect for all of us, 6 adults, a 4 year old and an under 2 year old. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and there was plenty of room. There are stair gates, a cot and High Chair. There's even a wine fridge which we stuffed. We brought most of our food with us and topped up at the local, very well stocked store. We also brought with us a BBQ, but if you do that, watch out for the local thieving cat! Coverack is beautiful and very peaceful and we will definitely return. We enjoyed every minute and were sad to leave. You do have to remember though that life is not as it was.

Porthvean is a truly wonderful holiday house. Coverack is a charming, authentic Cornish village and the house is slap bang in the heart of it. The layout of the house is perfect for a shared holiday experience, being open plan on the ground floor, with a comfy, appealing, classy feel. Three of the four bedrooms have sea views, with the two at the front of the house feeling particularly special. Everything about the property was just as you would hope for. We cannot recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning. Thank you, Sarah, and for all your helpful assistance too.

Outstanding Coverack property

This property is undoubtedly the best that we have had the pleasure to experience. Every aspect was first class from booking in, communication with the owner, presentation, location and content. The owners have excelled to ensure that this property exceeds expectations, down to the finest detail . We stayed for a week - two couples and our daughter - and everyone felt totally relaxed in the surroundings of this superb home. I hope that the opportunity arises for us to return from Australia and once again be part of the wonderful culture offered by the people and beauty of Coverack. The locals also stopped for a chat and made us feel very welcome. Our sincere thanks to Sarah for allowing us to be part of this outstanding location.

The beds are so comfy and the showers very powerful. The outside shower is a great idea. The instructions provided are most helpful and there is so much to see and do in the local area. The views from the house are just amazing and a few mins walk to the harbour, beach, local shop (which is well stocked), excellent restaurant, fab café and also kayak and wet suit rental. The property was warm and cosy with the most fantastic views of any place I've stayed in. The kitchen was very well-equipped. Its such a change to stay somewhere with super comfortable king sized beds. Even the 14 year old in our party put away his iPad and went for long country and coastal path walks. The views are a combination of beach, the harbour and way out to the distant horizon. Can not wait to go back. David O. Oct 2017

We have benne visiting Coverack for years and have stayed in many of the village's holiday cottages. This is one of the best yet. It was perfectly sized for 4adults and 4 children. Comfortable common areas, sofas, beds and the showers are amazing. There is even one outside which is very handy to ensure the sand stays outside.

The kitchen is very well equipped and the whole house has a really modern feeling. Will definitely consider again. Christian K.Oct 2017

I love Coverack and have been staying there for over forty years but our stay at Porthvean surpassed all of my expectations. The house is amazing and every detail has been given great thought - we wanted for nothing. Consequently everyone felt pampered and relaxed. A sign of a good holiday is when no one wants to go home and that was certainly the case this time! The position of the house is simply breath-taking and we were quite fortunate with the weather. Coverack had suffered badly from flooding the week before our visit and we were amazed at how quickly things were returning to normal. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

Wonderful property, stunning views

★★★★★ 5 out of 5

We stayed for a week but would have loved a month! We arrived in the aftermath of the dreadful storm that caused so much damage to the village. The resilience of the locals was humbling to see as was the support offered by volunteers who came to the village to help with the clear up. Within a few days the village was welcoming visitors with open arms almost as if nothing had happened.

Porthvean is ideally situated, high up a hill in the centre of the village with stunning views out to sea from most rooms. It has a dedicated car parking space and a decent garden with picnic bench to the side with sea views, a great place for morning coffee watching the world go by. There are fantastic coastal walks from the front door and the beach no more than a ten minute walk away. Inside, the house is a modern delight, large, airy and open plan downstairs with four good -sized bedrooms upstairs. An ensuite and family bathroom upstairs was complemented by a downstairs shower and bathroom. Laundry was easy with a washing machine and drier in the utility room. A good selection of TV channels and fast wifi helped to pass the evenings. Furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean throughout we immediately felt at home. The kitchen had every utensil we needed and the large fridge freezer allowed us to stock up on essentials.

Did I mention the views? As nature lovers we quickly set up a scope in one of the bedroom windows and watched an array of sea birds passing off the point. Dolphins were seen clearly on two days. Seals were regular visitors to the bay in front of the house. Shipping regularly passed by into and out of Falmouth. Step over the road and you enter a small park with seating that takes advantage of the views and sunshine.

All in all a wonderful house in a fantastic location and one we would love to return to.  Ian J.Stay: Jul 2017,

Best quiet seaside retreat in Britain

★★★★★ 5 out of 5

This house is superb. This was our second visit and everything was as sharp as the first time. The house refurbishment is really well thought through and the attention to detail is at the highest level, like black out curtains - essential in a house with big bright windows with stunning views. Although we did not use them as it was very warm for our stay, the heating system, especially underfloor in the bathroooms, makes this a place that I would consider out of season as well. Location of the house is also excellent - very close to the beach - so you can come back easily for lunch or other things if you want. But it is not right on the front. House also stood up to torrential flash storm that hit the village when we were there with no leaks. Coverack is a delightful place for children's holidays - sheltered beach, supervised watersports, rock pooling, hardly ever full beach, coastal wildflower walks. Decent butchers and restaurants easily accessible.

The house is in a perfect goldilocks spot, not on top of the sea, so you get a wonderful panorama but close enough to get that feeling its at the end of the garden. Not in the centre of the village with the parked cars but still only a hundred yards from it.

A Jewel by the Sea

★★★★★ 5 out of 5

Our stay in the charming town of Coverack at the lovely home, Porthvean, was fabulous. The location was perfect and the scenic ocean views peaceful. My husband and I flew to the UK from Chicago and travelled to Cornwall with my twin sister and her husband who live in East Sussex. We went to Coverack to celebrate our 60th birthday. It was the perfect place and perfect house for this special occasion. The home was spacious and comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. We loved the comfy beds and their plush, soft duvets and pillows. The showers were strong and had excellent temperature control. The town had great shops, restaurants and pub as well as coastal walks. Try the Cornish pasties or pastries at Elisabeth's. Stop by at the Paris Pub for a pint and tasty meal or splurge for a fancy dinner at The Bay Hotel. (where we celebrated our birthday) Don't forget to have ice cream at Roskilly's. The Village Shop was convenient as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.

 ★★★★★ 5 out of 5

This is the best equipped and most comfortable rented property we have ever stayed in. Great thought has gone into the refurbishment of the house, so that the rooms have a light airy feeling. The kitchen and utility rooms are very well equipped. The double beds are all a good sized, and very comfortable. Although we were there in the summer, features like underfloor heating in the bathrooms will make a great difference in cooler periods. The position in the village is very convenient for access to the beach and the parking space is invaluable. Finally the views from all the major rooms are superb. We had one of the most delightful holidays

What a find, absolutely fantastic place with a light airy feel and of course those amazing views, I lay in the very comfortable bed gazing out the window thinking I had died and gone to heaven. the house had everything we needed, nothing had been overlooked. In the early evenings we sat on the patio with a glass of wine and we enjoyed exploring the restaurants and shops in the village. It was the perfect place for us, four couples who like to go away every couple of years. We are going to book again this winter though as we loved it so much. Thank you so much to the owner Sarah who was helpful and patient in answering our questions and who did everything she could to ensure our stay was great.

Super property, in a great location, has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Family of 8 stayed here for the end of May Bank Holiday, 3 generations who thoroughly enjoyed the break and have already rebooked for next year. The property has all the conveniences you would expect and so much more.... home from home. Really cozy feel about the house, yet still felt spacious enough for 6 adults and 2 boys. The outside shower was very handy, coming off the beach, especially with the two lads.

With children's park across the road, the Pub and restaurant/take-away just down the hill (literally 2-3 minute walk) you couldn't go wrong. The local's are so friendly as-well, which just added to the whole experience
